To Sea At Last! Some pollack action for the south coast of Ireland!

March 2014 – At last we get to sea!

On screen water temperatures are only still hovering around 8 degrees although the information buoy sites are showing temperatures closer to 10 degrees. We launched Kevin Murphy’s Bellavista Hotel BIG1 for a run recently.

Our plan? Simple really, we would fish with lures and check out to see of there is some pollack residing on some of the offshore reefs. We left the launch site in Cobh and head to sea in super conditions (although a little foggy). We were soon drifting some decent reefs that usually hold pollack at this time of year. Our first drift saw us into some fish. All told the average size was small but we did winkle out a few decent fish…
