Cornish Anglers need your help !!! We applaud your far-sighted vision of sustainable fishing. Sadly in the UK however we have a well-organised commercial fishing fraternity who have our fisheries minister in their back pocket. Witness the horrendous concessions granted the bass gill netters by useless Eustice – http://www.anglingtrust.net/news.asp?section=29&from=2015/01/01&to=2016/01/01&itemid=2843 Depressingly lamentable. We already come fish your marks, we’d love you to come fish ours, but we need your help to build up our stocks, especially bass. The arguments for where you are require some thinking and articulation, but where can we find those arguments and who has trod this path ahead of us?? Help us please. For the sake of the planet and future generations. Intelligence must prevail over greed.
I am the boat secretary of The Plough sac,we visit Cobh every year and I visit Cobh 3 times a year fishing from boat and shore. We condemn the practice of mussel seed dredging in Cork harbour. If this is allowed to continue there will be an adverse effect on the marine life in the harbour.
